Terms of Service
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of ARTON (“ARTON”, “we”) for using the ARTON website and services. By creating an account or using ARTON you accept them. Please also read our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy.
1. What ARTON is
ARTON is a platform where artists publish their work, build a public profile, get discovered, message people and accept paid commissions. Art lovers browse, follow, save and commission artists. ARTON also offers optional AI tools that help artists describe and present their own work.
For commissions, ARTON connects the client and the artist and collects the payment through our payment partner, Razorpay. The commissioned artwork itself is created and delivered by the artist.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your password safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Don't impersonate anyone or create accounts to manipulate likes, follows or rankings.
- You can sign up with email or with Google. If you sign in with Google, Google's terms also apply to that sign-in.
3. Your artwork and content
You keep all rights to the artwork and content you upload. ARTON does not claim ownership.
So that we can run the service, you give ARTON a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, display and share your content on ARTON. This includes showing thumbnails in feeds, search and discovery, and featuring your work (credited to you) in ARTON's own promotion of the platform. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared in promotions or kept in backups for a limited time.
You confirm you created the work you upload, or have the right to share it, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
4. AI tools and honest labelling
Every artwork must be labelled honestly as Original, AI-assisted or AI-generated. Passing off AI-generated images as hand-made work, or copying another artist's style to deceive buyers, is not allowed. AI suggestions (titles, tags, captions, feedback) are drafts; you are responsible for anything you publish. See our AI Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, don't upload illegal content, sexual content involving minors, content that infringes copyright or trademarks, hateful or harassing content, malware or spam, and don't try to break, scrape or overload the service or take payments outside ARTON to avoid fees after meeting a client here.
We may remove content, move it back to drafts, or suspend accounts that break these terms. Where reasonable, we tell you why.
6. Commissions
- A commission is an agreement between the client and the artist for a custom artwork. The artist sets the price (their quote) and both sides agree on the brief, deadline and delivery in their ARTON conversation.
- The client pays only after the artist accepts the commission at an agreed price.
- The artist is responsible for creating and delivering the work as agreed. The client is responsible for giving accurate information and references they have the right to share.
- Unless agreed otherwise in writing, the artist keeps the copyright in commissioned work and the client receives a licence for personal, non-commercial use (for example, display, printing for personal use, or use as a profile picture). Commercial use must be agreed with the artist.
- Cancellations and refunds follow the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Payments, fees and payouts
- Payments are processed by Razorpay (UPI, cards, netbanking, wallets). ARTON never sees or stores your card, UPI PIN or bank login details.
- Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) unless stated otherwise and include any taxes the artist has included in their quote.
- ARTON keeps a platform fee of 8% of each commission payment. The artist receives the remaining amount.
- Artist payouts are sent to the artist's bank account or UPI ID after the commission is marked Completed, normally within 7 working days. Artists must provide correct payout details and are responsible for their own income tax.
- Joining, publishing and using discovery features are free. Any future paid plans will show their price clearly before you buy.
8. Disclaimers and liability
ARTON is provided “as is”. We work hard to keep it running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, or that any artist will gain followers, sales or commissions.
To the extent the law allows, ARTON is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to a commission is limited to the amount paid for that commission through ARTON. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Closing your account
You can stop using ARTON at any time and ask us to delete your account through the contact page. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Open commissions and payouts are settled fairly under these terms before closure.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If a dispute can't be resolved by contacting us first, it will be handled by the courts of India.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as ARTON grows. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use ARTON after that means you accept the updated terms.
